"Desperate Housewives" Former Star Nicollette Sheridan Suing Show Creator Over Assault

Nicollette Sheridan's exit from "Desperate Housewives" was anything but amicable, if this new lawsuit is any indication. The 46-year-old actress, who played maneater Edie Britt in the ABC series, is suing the show's creator Marc Cherry for allegedly hitting her.

Sheridan filed an assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination suit against Cherry for purportedly striking her across the head and face on the set of the show when she complained about her dismissal.

According to the lawsuit obtained by TMZ, the former soap star created a hostile working environment, "behaving in an extremely abusive and aggressive manner toward the individuals who work on the show."

On September 24, 2008, when Sheridan questioned him about the script, Cherry apparently "took her aside and forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head." He then went to her trailer to "beg forgiveness."

The blonde beauty immediately reported the incident to ABC but the alphabet network failed to take action and Cherry's aggressiveness only worsened.

She also added that when Cherry found out co-star Teri Hatcher complained about him, he said, "I hope Teri Hatcher gets hit by a car and dies."

Sheridan is also complaining about her character's abrupt and unfair exit from the show. She is seeking more than $20 million.
