"Glee" Covers Christina Aguilera, Diana Ross In New Episode

April 27, 2010 11:52 am CDT

"Glee" had fun with its Madonna-centric episode last week, featuring most light-hearted cuts from the Material Girl. But things get a little more serious on this week's episode.

Kristin Chenoweth returns as April Rhodes, the boozed-up lost soul who was still trying to hold onto her high school days. Chenoweth gets to sing Bruce Springsteen's "Fire," Burt Bacharach's "One Less Bell to Answer," and Diana Ross' "Home" from "The Wiz."

Chris Colfer's Kurt gets his own shot at Bacharach after his crush on Finn (Cory Monteith) continues unrequited, singing "A House Is Not a Home," best known for its versions by Dionne Warwick and Barbra Streisand.

Mercedes (Amber Riley) finds herself trying to fit into her new Cheerios uniform, and having to starve herself to do so. She serves up a rendition of Christina Aguilera's hit, "Beautiful."

With "American Idol" running longer and cutting out minutes of "Glee" upon DVR viewing, be sure to add a few extra minutes on the backend. The songs featured on the episode of "Home" are already available to purchase on iTunes.

"A House Is Not A Home," "One Less Bell to Answer," and "Beautiful" also all appear on the upcoming "Glee" soundtrack "Showstoppers, Volume 3," in stores May 18th.
