The most famous mutants of all time are making another appearance on DVD.

"Wolverine and the X-Men: Beginning of the End" is currently available on DVD from Lionsgate Entertainment. This third volume of the newest "X-Men" animated series is also available as part of a trilogy in "Wolverine and the X-Men Volumes 1-3," a three-pack released concurrently with "Beginning of the End." Fans will have the option of purchasing the single DVD for the retail price of $14.98 if they already own the other two volumes or saving money with the three volume set, which retails for $29.98.

"Beginning of the End" includes five episodes of the series: "Future X," "Greetings from Genosha," "Past Discretions," "eXcessive Force" and "Battle Lines." The DVD includes special features such as audio commentary from series writers and producers, as well as the first episode of the motion comic "Astonishing X-Men: Gifted."

These same special features are offered on the DVD included in the three-DVD pack, as well. The first two volumes of the set, "Heroes Return Trilogy" and "Deadly Enemies," set the stage for the events of "Beginning of the End" with the adventures of X-Men Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Storm, Cyclops, Gambit and Rogue, among others. Facing antagonists like the Shadow King, Mojo, the Incredible Hulk and more, the mutant superhero team aims to defeat the forces of evil, protect mankind and uphold the good name of X-Men founder Professor Xavier.

Also in the "Volumes 1-3" set are special features such as X-Men character profiles and making-of featurettes, in addition to the audio commentary from series producer Craig Kyle and writers Greg Johnson and Chris Yost.

Since its creation by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1963 as part of Marvel Comics' lineup, "X-Men," originally "The Uncanny X-Men," has seen numerous comic title spin-offs, a variety of television incarnations and a live action film series.
