ABC Television To Boot "Ugly Betty" From March 26

January 27, 2009 07:00 am CST

Beginning March 26, ABC television is booting "Ugly Betty" and replacing it with episodes of "Samantha Who?" and the new Megan Mullally-Cheryl Hines comedy "In the Motherhood."

"Ugly Betty will return to Thursday nights at 8:00 p.m. following the run of In the Motherhood and Samantha Who?" say a press release by the network. "Ugly Betty" stars America Ferrera, Eric Mabius, Ashley Jensen, Vanessa Williams and Tony Plana, just to name a few of the actors. It is aired at 8 pm on Thursday nights.

In the latest Nielson overnight ratings, "Ugly Betty" fell to third place in its time-slot, behind "Bone's" on FOX and a "CSI" repeat on CBS. For the night of January 22, "Ugly Betty" only drew 7.5 million viewers, and a rating share of 2.4/7 in the 18-49 year old demographic.

"Motherhood" story lines will be inspired by the experiences of actual moms where they can share their experiences ranging from potty-training, play-date and stretch-mark experiences on the Web site Inthemotherhood.com, ABC said in a press release.
