Colin Hanks joins "Dexter" cast

Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN Entertainment) - Colin Hanks will face off with Dexter Morgan in the next season of the Showtime series "Dexter." The ex-"The Good Guys" star is reportedly joining the cast of the crime drama for a major season 6 arc.

TVLine reports that Hanks will be filming with the rest of the cast later this month, but his role is still being kept under wraps. However, if he plays one of Dexter's (Michael C. Hall) adversaries, his character won't be like the past bad guys.

Network president David Nevins told the website last week that Dexter won't face off against a singular character, like he did with Trinity and the Ice Truck Killer.

He said, "It is not one big bad. There's one story that will move through the season, and it will be cast very interestingly, but it's not exactly that one person."

As for Dexter's relationship with his adoptive sister, Deb, Nevins revealed that their relationship will "evolve and change, no questions about it."
