Sir Elton John is a busy guy. Not only did he provide the music for the #1 movie in the country "Gnomeo & Juliet," he's also been announced as an upcoming host of "Saturday Night Live." According to Billboard, Elton John will perform duties as both host and musical guest on the upcoming April 2nd episode of "SNL." It's the first time he's hosted the show and his first appearance since 1982 as musical guest. He'll be joined by Leon Russell for the musical performances, where they'll likely perform cuts off last year's collaborative album, "The Union." John joins a line-up of upcoming "SNL" guests that include host Miley Cyrus, who won't perform double duties but will instead be joined by The Strokes. Zach Galifianakis, joined by newcomer Jessie J, hosts on March 8th. John is also reportedly lined up for a guest spot on "Glee." Stars Jane Lynch and Matthew Morrison both divulged over the weekend that the show's creator, Ryan Murphy, had sat down with the star about making an appearance on the show. Along with "SNL" and "Glee," Elton John also has no less than 9 songs on the "Gnomeo & Juliet" soundtrack, including a duet with Nelly Furtado. A duet with Lady Gaga, "Hello Hello," can be heard in the film as well. |
