Mike Rowe, creator, executive producer and host of the Discovery Channel's hit show, "Dirty Jobs," will be speaking in the Phillips Center at the University of Florida on January 20. Rowe has spent many years traveling the country, working on over 200 of the dirtiest jobs
Rowe has worked in just about every industry and has filmed in most every state. Rowe celebrates hard-working Americans who make life possible for the rest of us. Recently, Rowe launched a website called mikeroweWORKS.com, where skilled labor and hard work are featured and celebrated. Rowe's hope when he created the site, was to bolster enrollment in trade schools and technical colleges.
In addition to his hosting duties on Discovery's Dirty Jobs, he is the voice for "The Deadliest Catch" and hosts Shark Week and Egypt Week Live. He has also worked as a musician and appeared on QVC.
The University of Florida event is free and open to the public and doors will open at 7:15 p.m. The event will begin at 8 p.m. Seating is limited and is on a first come, first serve basis.
