Joely Richardson Joins Showtime's "The Tudors"

Joely Richardson is checking out of one Emmy-nomiated series for another. Richardson will leave the sex and drama of "Nip/Tuck" for the sex and drama of "The Tudors."

The actress, who spent five seasons on FX's "Nip/Tuck," will be joining the critically acclaimed Showtime drama for its final season. Richardson will play Catherine Parr, the sixth and last wife of Jonathan Rhys Meyers' Henry VIII.

Richardson will appear in five episodes of the series, which is currently filming in Dublin, Ireland. The fourth and final season of "The Tudors" will premiere on Showtime in 2010.

"The Tudors" was nominated for five Emmys this year, including awards for costumes and cinematography.
