"Parenthood" will have to wait until next year. NBC is delaying the series by eight weeks until star Maura Tierney recovers from her illness.

It wasn't specified what is ailing the 44-year-old actress. NBC said they are postponing the show's production due to Tierney's "medical evaluation."

The network said in a statement, "The top priority for NBC, Universal Media Studios and Imagine Television is the well-being of Ms. Tierney. We are unable to release further details and ask that you respect her privacy at this time."

The show was scheduled to premiere in September, but has now been tentatively pushed back until 2010. This is the second time the show was delayed. In April, the pilot was put on hold for two days following network executive Nora O'Brien's unexpected death on the set.
