Oprah Winfrey Will Host Talk Show From Washington

December 4, 2008 10:47 pm CST

Talk show host Oprah Winfrey likes to be as close to the action as possible, and that means going to Washington for the inauguration of Barack Obama. Oprah famously supported Obama throughout his run for president.

Celebrity News Service has learned that Harpo Productions says Winfrey will host a live episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" from the Kennedy Center Opera House on January 19, the day before Obama takes the presidential oath of office.

"I think it's great that she will be right there," an Oprah fan told Celebrity News Service. "She was so supportive of Barack during his campaign, and this just shows that she will continue to be supportive."

Winfrey also appeared with him at campaign rallies, donating money and cheered him at the Democratic National Convention. Winfrey also cried on a stranger's shoulder in Chicago's Grant Park after Obama's election-night acceptance speech.

At least two shows are planned from Washington that week, the second being on Wednesday. Information about ticketing for the show will be available next week on Oprah.com.
