Ricky Gervais is setting up an office in China. The English comic, who has created the hit U.K. comedy series "The Office" and its U.S. adaptation, will be developing a version in the Asian country.

He wrote on his website blog: "I have some amazing news too. We are about to start work on developing a Chinese 'The Office.' How cool is that?"

"I'm worried they will pull out when they see the first episode of An Idiot Abroad though."

Gervais created and starred on the original version of "The Office," a comedy series filmed in a fake documentary style. The show has adapted versions in several countries, including in the U.S., where Steve Carell took over the lead role.

Carell, meanwhile, has announced his exit from the show.
