Vanessa Williams Joining "Desperate Housewives" As Series Regular |

Wilhelmina Slater is set to move onto Wisteria Lane. Not really the "Ugly Betty" diva, but the multi-hyphenated star Vanessa Williams, who will be rubbing elbows with the women of "Desperate Housewives" next season. The 47-year-old actress/singer/beauty queen is confirmed to join another ABC series next season after "Ugly Betty" aired its final episode last month. According to TVGuide.com, Williams is appearing in the program as a series regular, possibly as a replacement for Nicollette Sheridan, whose character Edie Britt was killed off in season 5. Creator Marc Cherry told the website, "I'm a big fan of Vanessa's work and I'm so excited that she'll be moving into the neighborhood next season to cause trouble in all the ladies' lives." |
