Tyra Banks Granted Protection From "Mentally Unstable" Stalker

October 20, 2010 Tyra Banks, Michael Jackson

Tyra Banks has been granted protection from a "mentally unstable celebrity stalker." The "America's Next Top Model" honcho filed documents in Los Angeles Superior Court for a restraining order against a man who claims he killed George Bush Jr.

According to the papers obtained by TMZ, the 36-year-old retired supermodel claims Marten Williams, Jr., 39, has a history of mental illness. He apparently believes "he killed George Bush Jr. and that Michael Jackson is alive and living in Long Beach."

Tyra alleges that the 6'2", 220 lbs. Williams "targeted and harassed and stalked" her and her family since 2006.

He apparently called her mother on several occasions and sent "ominous frightening letters and items" outside her Beverly Hills home, including his prescription medication, L.A. County jail wristbands, and a note that states a January 8, 2011 wedding date for him and Tyra.

Williams was arrested earlier this month for trespassing on her property. He was later placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold, but Tyra believes he may have been released.

Tyra states in the documents: "I am in fear from Mr. Williams for my personal safety, and that of those around me, including my family and employees."

Williams is now ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from Tyra and her family until October 28 when a court hearing will be held to determine if the temporary restraining order will become permanent.
