Vanessa Hudgens Named ShoWest 2010 Star Of Tomorrow

"High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens has been named ShoWest 2010's Star of Tomorrow alongside her "Beastly" co-star Alex Pettyfer. They will receive their awards at the annual cinema owners convention in Las Vegas in March.

According to Starpulse, the 21-year-old singer/actress landed the honor after impressing movie bosses with her role in the Disney film series.

ShoWest managing director Robert Sunshine called Hudgens and Pettyfer "outstanding young talents."

Also, Katherine Heigl is named Female Star of the Year.

ShoWest 2010 opens on March 15 at the Bally's and Paris hotels.

Meanwhile, Hudgens and Pettyfer's "Beastly," a modern take on the classic children's fairytale "Beauty and the Beast," will be released July 30. The film will also stars Mary-Kate Olsen, Lisa Gay Hamilton, Peter Krause, and Neil Patrick Harris.
