Victoria Beckham Starts Speaking Like Queen Elizabeth

August 12, 2009

Victoria Beckham has started speaking like Britain's Queen Elizabeth. The former Spice Girls singer - nicknamed Posh Spice - shocked audiences Tuesday when she unveiled her new "positively plummy" English accent during a TV interview in Los Angeles.

The 35-year-old star - who has previously been mocked for her squeaky Cockney voice - sounded "exactly like" the 83-year-old monarch as she described her judging role in "American Idol."

When the interview concluded, the shocked TV presenter remarked: "Gosh, Posh has gone all posh!"

"The most interesting thing about all that to me is Posh's new posh voice. A little bit of an American accent in there, but actually a very nice speaking voice."

Victoria and her husband David have both been speaking more eloquently since moving to the U.S. in 2007, prompting speculation they have had voice training.

But Victoria's spokesman denied the star has done anything to change her voice.

He said: "She has not undergone any vocal training."
