Will Ferrell Doesn't Want To Be Taken Seriously

September 1, 2008

Will Ferrell doesn't want to be taken seriously. The 'Step Brothers' star - who made his name in comedy TV shows and movies - starred in quirky drama 'Stranger Than Fiction' in 2006 but insists he is not looking to become a serious actor.

He said: "I don't have this yearning to be respected or taken seriously. But it does bother me that comedy isn't considered hard to do."

Will also revealed starring on hit U.S. TV show 'Saturday Night Live' was a "very scary dream come true" and he couldn't believe he got the role.

He added: "I got 'Saturday Night Live' with a bit of a guilty conscience. There were people who had been at my comedy troupe Groundlings for six or seven years and became my teachers. For me to then get picked for 'Saturday Night Live' after three years. I was like, 'Um, sorry I got this!'"

"I felt like a mouse who found this hunk of cheese that nobody else got."
