Will Smith And Jada Pinkett Smith's Children Manage Their Own Money

December 5, 2008

Jada Pinkett Smith says her children - both under 11 - manage their own money. The "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa" actress insists her children pay their own way, and she acts as banker to daughter Willow, eight, and son Jaden, 10.

The children are already earning their own money as actors and have both starred alongside their father Will Smith in hit movies.

Jada, 37, told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "I'm their bank. They have to come to me and write up a little slip when they want a withdrawal. You make it clear to them, that this is their money and things they want they'll be paying for."

"Kids will be very responsible without you having to do it for them."

Willow appeared with Will in "I Am Legend," and voices a character in "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa."

Speaking about working with her dad on-screen, Willow explained: "Daddy is funny and crazy. He tells me things like 'feel the moment' when I'm acting. Mommy is cheerful and gives a lot of happiness."

Jaden had a starring role in "The Pursuit of Happiness" alongside Will and will soon start shooting a remake of "The Karate Kid."
