Terri Seymour's attacker has pleaded guilty to battery. Janice Thibodeaux admitted one charge in Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday - with the additional misdemeanour assault charge dropped as part of the plea - after she was accused of attacking Simon Cowell's former girlfriend outside the Los Angeles studio where his hit show 'American Idol' was being filmed. Thibodeaux was put on three-years probation and ordered to undergo an anger management programme and complete 36 hours of community service. She will be subjected to a psychological evaluation and must abide by the restraining order obtained by Terri last month. Thibodeaux will return to court on July 16 for an update on her progress and must prove she has enrolled in the course. She was accused of assaulting Terri outside the Nokia Theatre on December 19. Police claim Thibodeaux asked the presenter if she was still dating Simon - who she split from last November after a six-year relationship - and then tried to choke her. Thibodeaux claims she originally went to the studio to confront Simon about his behavior towards his fellow 'American Idol' judge Paula Abdul. She previously said: "I wasn't cool with Simon Cowell choking Paula on the show last week and with her crying-out 'help' as he did so. "Nobody said anything about that so I wanted to confront him about it because that is not appropriate behaviour, is it?" Under the terms of the restraining order, Thibodeaux must stay 100 yards away from her victim's home, car and work place. |
