Wyclef Jean To Journalist: I Am Not Will.I.Am

April 28, 2008

Former Fugees rapper Wyclef Jean has made one point very clear during a press conference in Sydney, Australia: He is not Will.I.Am.

The Haiti-born musician has singled out an Australian journalist, who had mistakenly referred to him as the Black Eyed Peas front man in an article published in a local paper, to point out his identity.

Jean, 35, sat next to the reporter saying, "Did you say I was Will.I.Am? Listen baby, I'm going to tell you something, look at my face right, do you think all black people look alike?"

"We always do get mistaken for each other... but no one has ever said Wyclef Jean, front man for Black Eyed Peas. I can't manage two supergroups."

But the good-natured artist was just teasing the journalist.

He tells her, "I'm just having a tease, I'm just taking the piss out of you. Look at me girl, I look much better in person. Now you know the difference, right?"
