Zach Braff Calls For Help On Directing Music Videos From Fans

May 5, 2008

Zach Braff is calling for help on directing a music video. The "Scrubs" star is calling everyone who can lip synch to help him direct singer pal Jay Clifford's next music video.

Braff has created a Web site [www.jaycliffordmusicvideo.com] for fans to download Clifford's "Know When To Walk Away" song and film themselves performing it. The actor wants to include the best submissions into the video.

He tells People magazine, "I've been looking for a way to collaborate with creative people all over the world. There have been videos where many people lip synch a song, but I have yet to see anyone wrangle the resources of the YouTube revolution into one unified thing. I have no idea if it will work, but that's part of the fun."

He adds, "I hope people will really think about it and make a video that articulates who they are and where they're from. The idea is to pretend you wrote the song. How does the song speak to who you are and what's going on in your life. I want people to tell a story about themselves through Jay's song."

The deadline of submission is on May 30.
