Zara Phillips Reveals She Was Asked To Star In "Strictly Come Dancing"

Britain's Zara Phillips was asked to star in a reality TV contest. The 27-year-old daughter of Princess Anne revealed she and boyfriend Mike Tindall were approached to appear on British talent show "Strictly Come Dancing" - which sees celebrities learn to dance with professionals, and one couple eliminated each week - but turned down the offer.

Seated in the show's audience on Sunday, Zara revealed: "We did get asked but it's a bad time of year for us, unfortunately. So we have to watch, but we love watching it."

Meanwhile, the couple - who moved into a cottage on Princess Anne's Gatcombe Park estate two years ago - have reportedly bid for a $2.63 million home.

The offer on the converted barn in Gloucestershire is seen as a clear sign that Zara is to marry her rugby player partner, 30, who she has been dating for five years.

A royal source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "They already live like a married couple. They are at the age where friends are starting to settle down."

"Zara hopes this is the place where she can live for years. It's the kind of home you fall in love with."

The six-bedroom property also boasts 46 acres of land, a separate flat for staff and a double garage, as well as planning permission for stables.
