Akon had to leap into the crowd at his show to stop brawling fans from creating more havoc, it has been revealed. The "Smacked That" hitmaker was forced to stop his concert at the Hisense Arena in Melbourne with T-Pain on Monday after at least 18 people suffered from the fight.

American R&B singer-songwriter Akon has been asked to make music for the forthcoming 2010 football world cup. The musician has been roped in to record a theme song for the football world cup event, which will take place in South Africa next year, and oversee performances throughout the tournament.

Akon is to record the official anthem for next year's soccer World Cup. The "Lonely" rapper has been asked by FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) to co-ordinate the song as well as music for the opening ceremony at the South African tournament, which starts next June.

Akon is to produce Alexandra Burke's first album. The rapper-and-producer - who is currently penning tracks for Michael Jackson - is excited about working with the "X Factor" winner and hopes she will be as successful as Leona Lewis, who has taken the U.S. by storm following her win on the British TV talent show in 2006.

Akon thinks a date with Lady Gaga would cure Britain's Prince Harry's broken heart. The 24-year-old royal split from his girlfriend Chelsy Davy, 23, last week after five years together.

Akon has been sentenced to 65 hours of community service for harassing a fan. The Senegalese-born rapper pleaded guilty to throwing a teenage boy off stage during a New York concert last year and was told he would avoid jail by completing the community service and paying a $250 fine.

Dubai's Sheikha Hessa reportedly upset Akon when she replaced him as the headline act at her recent birthday party.

Britain's Prince Harry has been offered rapping lessons. "Lonely" singer Akon says he is a big fan of the 24-year-old prince and hopes they can meet up when he visits London so he can share his skills with Harry.
