If Kung Fu Panda were a spoof, it might just go "poof." But it's not. It's a real kung fu movie. It just happens to be animated.

Jack Black gives voice -- and echoes of his persona -- to Po the Panda, a paunchy kung fu fan and perhaps the chief snacker-slacker in his village, the Valley of Peace in ancient China. He works, reluctantly, in his adoptive father's noodle shop, but he sits on the couch, daydreaming about becoming a master of the martial arts, a graceful and powerful kung fu fighter. Meanwhile, pass the chips.
