"300" Actress Lena Headey To Make Directorial Debut
Fri, 09 Jan 2009

"300" star Lena Headey is set to make her directorial debut in a low-budget dark thriller "Kill Drug."

The film follows Sally, the daughter of a woman who murdered her abusive husband in the 70s and then goes on to start a vigilante network in present-day London. When Sally is recruited into the gang, she discovers that all is not as it seems and that absolute power may have corrupted her mother completely.

Headey, who stars in the TV series "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," tells empireonline.com, "Kill Drug is smart, articulate, compelling, sexy, fun, dark, deeply poignant and not afraid to laugh at itself. Above all it is a gripping and compelling journey, a study of humanity's darkest flaws and purest innocence."

The actress-turned-director will likely have a small role in the film, but the main protagonist's part has yet to be filled.

Production starts January 2010.
