"Frozen River" Wins Best Feature At The Gotham Independent Film Awards

The 2008 Gotham Independent Film Awards has announced its winners, with "Frozen River" coming out as a winner with two accolades. "Frozen River" has beaten out another favorite "Ballast" for winning the Best Feature category. Actress Melissa Leo also took home the Breakthrough Actor award for her role as a working class woman who turn to illegal immigrant smuggling to make ends meet. Meanwhile, "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" and "Synecdoche, New York" were tied for the Best Ensemble Performance award. The event was held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York on Tuesday.
