"Inglourious Basterds" Approaching Theaters In August
Fri, 31 Jul 2009
Prepare for an ensemble epic war film by writer/director Quentin Tarantino. The spelling-challenged "Inglourious Basterds" is hitting theaters on August 21. Premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May, the WWII-themed film will bow down in the big screen this coming month. Brad Pitt leads the all-star cast of the project, which is expected to showcase violence aplenty just like any other Tarantino films. The much-awaited film will follow a group of Jewish-American soldiers dubbed as "The Basterds" in their Nazi killing spree, while a young Jewish woman seeks revenge from a Nazi colonel known as "The Jew Hunter" for the death of her family. Joining Pitt is a slew of stellar cast, including Eli Roth, B.J. Novak, Mike Myers, Cloris Leachman, Melanie Laurent, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Diane Kruger, and Julie Dreyfus among others. Universal and Weinstein Company's "Inglourious Basterds" will be out in theaters on August 21.
