An award-winning porn star has landed a starring role in Academy Award-winning director Steven Soderbergh's new film. Sasha Grey will play the protagonist in the upcoming film "Girlfriend Experience."

Soderbergh, whose credits include the "Ocean's Eleven" franchise and "Sex, Lies, and Videotape" among others, has tapped the 20-year-old porn actress to play the lead in the film about a high class call girl.

He told Interview magazine, "[It's] about someone who feels as though she is in absolute control of the way that her life works and, over the course of a week, comes to realize that's not true."

"It's a subject I've been totally interested in since the beginning of my career. This is just a milieu that I've never explored before."

"The Girlfriend Experience" is currently in production in New York.
