"The Dark Knight" To Be Released Again In Theaters
Thu, 11 Sep 2008
Not satisfied with a cool 0 million, "The Dark Knight" is now aiming for an Oscar. The Batman sequel will be released again in theaters in January next year. Warner Bros. is planning to re-release the blockbuster film in early 2009, during the Academy Awards voting season. A studio insider tells the Hollywood Reporter, "It's just a matter of bringing it back as a reminder for people." It's still unclear if the release will cover both the IMAX and conventional theaters. The Christopher Nolan-directed "The Dark Knight" is already the second highest grossing film of all time, next only to 1997 James Cameron film "Titanic." The late Heath Ledger, who plays villain Joker to Christian Bale's Batman, has been a media favorite for an Oscar nod.
