"Twilight" star Kristen Stewart is set to take on the role of rock guitarist Joan Jett in the new biopic "The Runaways."

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 18-year-old actress, who is currently enjoying her success with the vampire romance flick, will be portraying the legendary rocker in the film about Jett's 70s all-girl band.

"The Runaways" will chronicle the rise and fall of the titular band, the first successful all-girl hard rock band - which included Jett, Micki Steele, Jackie Fox, guitarist Lita Ford, drummer Sandy West, and singer/keyboardist Cherie Currie.

Jett will be executive producing, while video director Floria Sigismondi, who wrote the screenplay, will be directing.
