Adrien Brody To Play The New "Predator"
Wed, 07 Oct 2009

"The Pianist" is the new "Predator." Academy Award-winning actor Adrien Brody has been tapped to play Arnold Schwarzenegger's iconic role in the new adaptation of the 1987 sci-fi cult classic.

According to Variety, Brody will play a heroic mercenary who battles alien hunters in the reinvention of the film franchise, a role similar to Schwarzenegger's character, Dutch, in the original film.

Nimrod Antal will direct the film; Robert Rodriguez will produce and write the film.

Production is set to commence in Hawaii and in Austin for a July 9, 2010 release date.

Brody is best known for his award-winning role in Roman Polanski's "The Pianist" in 2002. He was last seen in the 2008 musical biopic "Cadillac Records" as Chess Records co-founder Leonard Chess.
