Alec Baldwin wants out of "Rock of Ages"
Wed, 11 May 2011
Anne Lu - Celebrity News Service Contributor Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN Entertainment) - Alec Baldwin has asked New Line to replace him "if at all possible" in the upcoming film adaptation of "Rock of Ages." The "30 Rock" star wants to pull out of the production after discovering a medical condition. Baldwin was announced to join the cast of the film last month. He is to play Dennis Dupree, the owner of the Sunset Boulevard club The Bourbon Room. But it seems that New Line needs to recast the part after the actor asked to be relieved from his commitment. Studio head Toby Emmerich first denied the rumors that Baldwin pulled out of production to Deadline, saying that the actor has a newly discovered medical condition that is expected to resolve. But he later gave an update, saying that Baldwin just asked the studio to replace him "if at all possible," even though he already committed to do the film. It remains unseen if Baldwin will be able to do the role. Emmerich told Deadline that he was curious if Baldwin also asked to pull out of his commitment to co-star in Woody Allen's next comedy. "Rock of Ages" also stars Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, Mary J. Blige, Malin Akerman, and Bryan Cranston. Article © AHN - All Rights Reserved
