Ben Stiller To Be Honored With MTV Movie Awards' Generation Award
Fri, 22 May 2009

Funnyman Ben Stiller is set to receive MTV's highest honor, the Generation Award, at the MTV Movie Awards later this month.

According to MTV, the 43-year-old actor/director/producer's iconic roles in the past qualified him to be the recipient of the highest honor. His portrayal of the oblivious male model in "Zoolander," his unfortunately named character Gaylord Focker in "Meet the Parents" and its "Meet the Fockers" sequel, and in last year's "Tropic Thunder" are just few of the characters that have made impact on generations for the last 20 years.

Stiller tells MTV, "I am honored to be getting the Generation Award. I was given my first show at MTV and also canceled for the first time. I also was secretly having an affair with J.J. Jackson, so it brings back pleasant memories."

He will be receiving the honor on May 31 at the Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City.

Stiller is also nominated for the newest MTV Movie Awards category, the Best WTF Moment, for his "Tropic Thunder" scene, wherein he tasted the decapitated head of Steve Coogan's character.

The 2009 MTV Movie Awards will be presented by Cameron Diaz, Will Ferrell, Jonah Hill, Vanessa Hudgens, Leighton Meester, Ryan Reynolds, Denzel Washington, and Lil Wayne. "Saturday Night Live" comedian Andy Samberg will host.
