Brad Pitt Reportedly Starring As Sherlock Holmes Supervillain In Guy Ritchie Film Sequel

Brad Pitt and Guy Ritchie are set to reunite. The "Snatch" star and director are reportedly working on the sequel of the Robert Downey Jr.-starrer "Sherlock Holmes."

According to Popeater, the 46-year-old A-lister will be joining the cast of the planned follow-up to the film. He will be playing Holmes' archenemy Professor James Moriarty if the sequel pushes through.

A source told the website that Ritchie thinks Pitt is one of the most underrated actors in the industry today, and he would love to work with him again. Since everyone thinks of the actor as a pretty boy, he can't wait to make him a supervillain.

Pitt starred in Ritchie's 2000 crime film "Snatch" as a Irish gypsy fighter who has an accent so thick that even Brits can't understand him.

"Sherlock Holmes," starring Downey Jr. in the title character and Jude Law as Dr. Watson, opened Christmas Day in the U.S. It debuted with .4 million in its first weekend, placing in second to James Cameron's "Avatar."
