Canceled Show "Jericho" Getting Second Life In The Silver Screen
Thu, 15 Jan 2009

The canceled CBS drama series "Jericho" will be resurrected on the big screen. According to producer Jon Turtletaub, they are developing a film version of the defunct show.

The producer told ifmagazine.com, "We're developing a feature for 'Jericho.' It would not require you to have seen the TV show, but it gets into life after an event like this on a national scale. It would be the bigger, full on American version of what's going on beyond the town in Jericho."

And when asked if the cast will reprise their role in the film, Turtletaub replied, "Oh yeah!"

The series focused on the residents of the fictional town of Jericho in Kansas in the aftermath of nuclear attacks on 23 major cities in the U.S.

The show ran from September 2006 to March 2008. It was initially canceled after its first season, but due to overwhelming fans' insistence, CBS brought it back for a seven-episode second season. It was canceled again due to dwindling ratings.
