Thu, 15 Oct 2009
Chris Pine is the new Jack Ryan. The "Star Trek" star has been confirmed to star in the new Paramount Pictures film based on the Tom Clancy novel series. According to Variety, the 29-year-old actor will come aboard the film, which producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mace Neufeld are working on with a script draft by Hossein Amini. He follows in the footsteps of Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck, who have all played the fictional character. This is the second Paramount franchise Pine is starring in. He also played the lead on the "Star Trek" film this year and will be reprising his role in the reboot franchise's sequel. Baldwin played Jack Ryan in "The Hunt for Red October" in 1990, Ford took in 1992's "Patriot games" and 1994's "Clear and Present Danger," and Affleck starred in 2002's "The Sum of All Fears."
