Director: Lindsay Lohan May Lose Linda Lovelace Role

Lindsay Lohan's Linda Lovelace film role can still go to another actress if she isn't able to get her act together in time. Although "Inferno" director Matthew Wilder has stood by the recovering addict's side throughout her legal troubles, it is still possible that the role will be filled by someone else.

Wilder has always said that they would wait for Lohan to be released from prison so they can shoot the biopic about the late porn star's life. But after tasting freedom, Lohan failed her drug tests. She was ultimately sent to The Betty Ford Center rehab, and won't be released until January 3.

When she got a "day pass" from the rehab, it was thought that she would be meeting with Wilder to discuss the film, which was seen as her comeback movie.

But apparently, the oft-delayed film wasn't Lohan's priority.

Wilder told RadarOnline.com, "I can confirm that we did not see Lindsay Lohan over the weekend. You know we have been through a lot with this project, and although she is still our number one choice - we do have a Plan B if she cannot film Inferno."

Lohan should be aware that while the filmmaker continues to stand by her side, everyone has their limit.

The director continued, "Actually we have had a great response from other people who really want the part, too. But we will wait until Lindsay has fulfilled all of her rehab and court obligations to see if she will be able to take her place as we had originally planned."

This is the first time Wilder and the producers admitted that they are open to an alternative plan. They have always been accommodating and supportive of the troubled actress, even delaying their production date for her.
