Disney's "Beauty And The Beast" To Be Re-Released In 3-D Version
Wed, 19 Nov 2008
Disney is set to release a new digital 3-D version of the hit 1991 animated film "Beauty and the Beast." The kid-friendly film company is planning to premiere the re-rendered form in 2010. "Beauty and the Beast" will have its original team of filmmakers supervising the process, including producer Don Hahn and co-directors Kirk Wise and Gary Trousdale. The re-rendering process is expected to take nine months. Hahn told Variety, "By going back to the original animation files, which have been carefully archived for 17 years, and using the separate background, effects and character animation elements, we're able to come up with a fun and unique 3-D experience for existing and new fans of the film." The film is the latest Disney cartoon flick that will be re-rendered in the digital 3-D format. "Toy Story" and its sequel "Toy Story 2" are also expected to be released in the new version in 2009 and 2010.
