Disney's "Wizards Of Waverly Place The Movie" Scores High With Viewers

The Disney Channel's "Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie" has become cable's No. 2 scripted telecast on records. The tween movie scored over 13.5 million total viewers. The movie, number 77 for the channel, became cable's No. 2 scripted telecast of all time in Total Viewers at 13.5 million, and cable's No. 2 telecast ever in Kids 6-11 (5.3 million/21.8 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (4.6 million/19.0 rating), behind August 2007's mega-hit, Disney's "High School Musical 2." In Kids 6-11, "Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie" now ranks as TV's No. 1 telecast of 2009, surpassing NBC's "Super Bowl" by scoring 5.3 million viewers vs. 5.1 million viewers. Disney is now dominating the networks, owning cable television top 2 scripted telecasts of all time in total viewers and cable's top 2 telecasts overall in both kids 6-11 and tweens 9-15. Disney also holds 3 of cable's top 5 most-watched movies ever in total viewers. "High School Musical 2" is number one at 18.6 million viewers, "Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie" is number two with 13.5 million and "Camp Rock" takes fifth place with 10.1 million.
