Encore To Pay Tribute To Director John Hughes On August 9

Encore will be paying tribute to director John Hughes with a double-feature on Sunday, August 9. Hughes was known for writing, directing and producing some of the most beloved and influential films of the 80s. The tribute will begin at 8:00 pm on Sunday with "Sixteen Candles" starring Molly Ringwald, Michael Schoeffling and Anthony Michael Hall. It will be followed by "Weird Science" at 9:35pm starring Anthony Michael Hall, Ilan Mitchell-Smith and Kelly LeBrock. Hughes film credits include "Home Alone," "Pretty in Pink," "Ferris Bueller's Day" and "The "Breakfast Club." Hughes, 59, passed away on Thursday of a heart attack during a morning walk while visiting Manhattan.
