Fans Are Buzzing About Casting Of Soon-To-Be-Released Movie "Twilight"
Wed, 12 Nov 2008
The upcoming movie "Twilight," based on the bestselling teen novel by Stephenie Meyer, has already sparked fervor in many fans even though the movie is over a week from opening. Message boards across the country have been buzzing about the casting for the movie. Main character Bella Swan, a human who falls in love with a vampire, is played by Kristen Stewart. Her immortal love interest Edward is played by Robert Pattinson, of "Harry Potter" fame. "I was a little surprised to see who they had cast as Bella. Kristen [Stewart] is a good actress, but that's not how I saw Bella's character at all," one fan told Celebrity News Service. "Even though I think some of the characters could have been cast better, I'm still looking forward to the movie -- James' casting is ideal, his scenes should be awesome!" Even Meyer has commented on fan's reactions to the casting. "Bella is a fictional character, and she looks different to everyone," Meyer said on her website. "No one is going to match up with your mental picture exactly -- or mine. The thing to hope for is a really great actor who can make us believe she is Bella (or Alice or so forth) for roughly two hours. I think we've got that with Kristen Stewart, and I can't wait to see her step into the role!" Fans of both "Twilight" and "Harry Potter" are weighing in on the casting of Robert Pattinson as vampiric hero Edward. "I loved him as Cedric Diggory," one fan said. "I can't wait to see what he does as Edward." "Twilight" opens in theaters November 21.
