The iconic golden gun in the 1974 James Bond film "The Man With The Golden Gun" has been stolen. Authorities are investigating the theft of the famous prop that is believed to be worth over 0,000.

Police were called in on Friday after lunch time when the weapon was noticed missing.

A spokesman for the Hertfordshire Police tells telegraph.co.uk, "We were called to Elstree Studios in Borehamwood at 1:25 p.m. after a report of a theft of a prop, which was the golden gun. Inquiries are ongoing."

The gun used in the film, which starred Roger Moore as the suave spy hero and Christopher Lee as the title character, was being stored by Elstree Props, a tenant based at the Elstree Studios.

Managin director Stephen Wickenden said they had no idea who stole it or when it was stolen.

When asked about the theft, Moore's spokesman joked, "You'd better ask Christopher Lee about this. Search his house."
