Jena Malone, Jamie Chung Join Zack Snyder's "Sucker Punch"
Tue, 21 Apr 2009
Zack Snyder has found replacements for Evan Rachel Wood and Emma Stone for his new all-girl project. Jamie Chung and Jena Malone have signed on to join the rest of the cast. As per the Hollywood Reporter, Wood and Stone were previously attached to the project but had to drop out because of scheduling conflicts. Chung is replacing Stone for the role of Amber, a country girl with a big heart, while Malone will take Wood's role as a younger sister to another inmate. Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish and Emily Browning are also starring. Browning took over the lead character part from "Mamma Mia!" star Amanda Seyfried when her schedule clashed with the film's production. The film centers on Baby Doll, a girl confined to a mental institution in the 1950s by her evil stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in a few days. She then imagines an alternate reality to hide from her pain. While in there, she begins planning her escape with the help of her fellow inmates, needing to steal five objects to help her get out. Snyder is directing and producing with his wife Deborah.
