John Travolta Says He Won't Reprise His Role For "Hairspray" Sequel
Mon, 27 Oct 2008

Despite the success of the movie musical "Hairspray," John Travolta has revealed that he won't be joining the cast of the sequel to the movie.

Travolta, playing the role of Edna Turnblad, was hailed by the critics for his performance while wearing a fat suit and cross-dressing for the role of Tracy Turnblad's mother.

Travolta has said that he is not a fan of sequels, telling Australia's The Sunday Herald Sun, "I think once in enough. I did it and I did it well but I'm not a big sequel guy."

The star studded cast also included Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, Amanda Bynes, Zac Efron, Queen Latifah and Nikki Blonsky. The sequel is said to again be focused on the Turnblad family, but there is no word yet on who may or may not decide to return for the film.
