Kevin Spacey As "The Father Of Invention" In Indie Comedy

Kevin Spacey is going indie in the upcoming comedy "Father of Invention." The Oscar winner will star in the project, which will be directed by "Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector" helmer Trent Cooper. The story, written by Cooper, Jonathan Krane and Nichole Beattie, centers on a humble inventor that turns into an egomaniacal billionaire. He loses all his fortune when one of his inventions goes horribly wrong. He must rebuild his life after being released from prison. As per Variety, the actor will be producing along with his Trigger Street Productions partner Dana Brunetti. Krane and Ken Barbet will co-produce, while Scott Lumpkin exec produces. Spacey has three films lined-up for this year. He has lent his voice in the sci-fi thriller "Moon," which will be distributed in June; he joins an ensemble cast in the indie drama "Shrink;" and he will star alongside George Clooney in the novel-based "The Men Who Stare at Goats."
