Kieran Culkin is joining the cast of the graphic novel-based film "Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World," it has been reported.

According to HitFix.com, the 26-year-old actor, who was nominated for a Golden Globe for his role in the 2002 film "Igby Goes Down," has landed a role in the film, based on Bryan Lee O'Malley's popular "Scott Pilgrim" series. He will play Scott Pilgrim's gay roommate, Wallace Wells.

In the film, the title character, played by "Juno" actor Michael Cera, would have to defeat his girlfriend's seven evil ex-boyfriends in order to win her heart. Mary Elizabeth Winstead will play the girlfriend, Ramona V. Flowers.

Edgar Wright will direct the Universal Pictures film. Production will kick off in Spring in Toronto.
