Fri, 09 Jan 2009

Multi-award winning actress Kristin Scott Thomas is set to play the late John Lennon's aunt Mimi in Sam Taylor's debut feature "Nowhere Boy."

The film tells the story of the Beatle legend's childhood. Anna-Marie Duff is also on board and will play Lennon's mother, Julia.

Robert Bernstein and Douglas Rae will produce the project, Variety reports. Production will start in March in Lennon's hometown Liverpool and at Ealing Studios.

Thomas, 48, recently won Best European Actress at the 2008 Europe Film Awards last month for her role in the 2008 French drama "I've Loved You So Long." She is also nominated for Best Actress by the Golden Globes.
