London 2008 Film Festival Is Biggest Movie Event of Britain

The Times BFI London Film Festival, one of the most highly regarded and anticipated events in Europe's cultural calendar, attracts leading international film makers with large public audiences. The festival, celebrating its 52nd year, is held every year by the British Film Institute and is currently sponsored by The Times newspaper. Celebrity News Service believes it is time for film fans to mark their calendars for the U.K.'s largest film festival which will run from October 15 - 30. The festival is two action-packed weeks of movies, celebrity sightings, guest speakers and is a don't-miss-this London experience. The Festival showcases selected new films from the full spectrum of world cinema, with an extensive schedule of industry and public forums, education events, lectures and celebrity interviews. Since it began, the London Film Festival has been a lively event in London attracting numerous visitors every year. This year the event will be held in various locations of London . Public booking for tickets to the 2008 film festival starts on Saturday, September 29, while booking for BFI members opens September 26. The event is organized by the British Film Festival and in addition to the public screening program -- which presents 180 feature films and 130 short films each year -- the festival holds panel discussions, master classes, screen talks and live events.
