M. Night Shyamalan has gathered the cast for the upcoming live-action film based on the anime-inspired Nickelodeon animated series, "The Last Airbender."

Last year, MTV Films and Nickelodeon Movies announced that they have signed "The Sixth Sense" filmmaker to write, direct and produce a trilogy of live-action films based on the popular cartoon.

Now, Shyamalan has found the youngsters set to play the lead roles, who are likely to become household names by the time the first of three films open in July 2010.

Noah Ringer will be playing the lead role of 12-year-old Aang. Jackson Rathbone, whose film credits include the smash hit "Twilight," will play Aang's friend Sokka, while Nicola Peltz will play his sister Katara.

According to Hollywood Insider, singer Jesse McCartney is still in talks to play evil prince Zuko.

Production will start in May.
