Michael Cera Speaks Up About His Alleged Holding Out Of "Arrested Development" Film
Thu, 22 Jan 2009

Finally speaking up about the film adaptation of "Arrested Development" that he is allegedly holding out, Michael Cera says that it's still too early to give his decision.

Last year, the now-defunct show's creator Mitch Hurwitz had been quoted to say that the 20-year-old actor was the only one of the TV cast members who is holding out the film by not confirming his involvement.

Cera argues that the film is "more hypothetical than people think" since there is no script yet.

He told MTV while promoting his new film "Paper Heart" in Sundance, "There's no script or anything, so the movie I think is more hypothetical than people think. I'd possibly play the part. I'd possibly put the script in my shredder... I'm enjoying being the villain."

Although still reluctance, the actor - who enjoyed success in the big screen with "Juno" and "Superbad" - says he is "very interested to see what the story is with [the film]."

Cera played George Michael Bluth, the son of Jason Bateman's character, in the Fox sitcom that lasted for three seasons.
