New Image From Brave Arrives And There's A New Look At Frankenweenie
Thu, 29 Dec 2011

The run of post-Christmas picture previews continues today with Disney releasing new looks of two of its biggest animated projects for 2012. Throw your eyes down to the gallery for new looks at both Pixar's Brave and Tim Burton's Frankenweenie, courtesy of Collider.

Neither of the pictures offers much in the way of truly revelatory content - after all, we know what the main characters in the films look like already, but it's always nice to see some extra imagery.

Brave, of course, is the Emeryville gang's big release for the year, and what we hope will wipe the unpleasant memories of Cars 2 from our collective brains. The studio's first full-on mythical tale, it finds headstrong Princess Merida (Kelly Macdonald) chafing against tradition and custom and desperate to prove that she's more than just the future wife for some annoying lord's son. But her actions end up unleashing chaos and fury in the kingdom, and soon she'll have to face a huge challenge and an ancient curse to save her family and the entire kingdom.

We'll finally get to see Brave on August 17. But we'll have to wait until October 5 for Frankenweenie, Burton's new stop-motion effort based the 1984 short that helped make his name in Hollywood.

It's the typically twisted (yet utterly charming) tale of young Victor, who harnesses his scientific know-how to resurrect best pal and pet Sparky when the pooch is killed. While he initially tries to hide his creation, Sparky gets out and causes trouble for the town...
